- How to plan a year of corporate gifting
Indian companies gift across the whole year, not just at Diwali. Teams spread across states celebrate different festivals, clients expect a New Year diary, and new joiners arrive every month. A corporate gifting calendar lets you plan budgets once, order early and stop scrambling in October.
Below is the calendar from October 2026 to October 2027, with dates, who to gift, gift ideas and the week your order needs to be confirmed. Prices are per piece from our corporate gift store, before branding and GST.
Festival dates follow the Hindu and Gregorian calendars as published for New Delhi. Regional observance can differ by a day, and Eid dates depend on the sighting of the moon.

Autumn: Navratri, Durga Puja, Dussehra and Diwali
The five weeks from Navratri to Diwali are the peak of Indian corporate gifting. Dussehra (20 October 2026) and Diwali (8 November 2026) are less than three weeks apart, so most companies choose one budget and one gift. If you gift at both, give something small at Dussehra and the main gift at Diwali. Our guide to Navratri and Dussehra corporate gifts explains how to split the budget.

Winter: Christmas, New Year, Lohri, Sankranti and Pongal
Christmas and New Year are when diaries and desk calendars do their best work, because the recipient starts using them the next week. Perpetual wooden desk calendars from our desk calendar sets never go out of date. For ideas and a Secret Santa budget guide, see Christmas and New Year corporate gifts.
Mid-January brings Lohri (14 January 2027), Makar Sankranti and Pongal (15 January 2027). These harvest festivals are big in Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Teams in those states appreciate a gift at their own festival as much as at Diwali. Eco kits in cork and bamboo suit the harvest theme. See eco-friendly gift sets.
Spring: Republic Day, Women's Day, Eid, Holi and year-end
- Women's Day (8 March). A premium diary set or insulated tumbler is thoughtful without being gendered.
- Eid al-Fitr (around 10 March 2027). A bottle-led hamper or diary set for colleagues and clients who celebrate. Confirm the date closer to the time, as it depends on the moon.
- Holi (22 March 2027). A light, fun gift: a colourful mug, an eco kit or a pen set.
- Financial year-end (31 March). Reward top performers and channel partners with tech sets or five-piece hampers. Remember that gifts to business associates over ₹20,000 a year attract TDS. See GST on corporate gifts.
Summer and monsoon: Baisakhi and the rainy season
Baisakhi (14 April 2027) matters for teams in Punjab and north India. From June to September, monsoon gift sets (a folding umbrella with an insulated flask) are a practical thank-you for sales and field teams. See our monsoon and umbrella sets.
Late summer: Independence Day, Raksha Bandhan, Ganesh Chaturthi and Onam
- Independence Day (15 August) and Raksha Bandhan (17 August 2027) fall close together. Small desk gifts and pen sets work for both.
- Ganesh Chaturthi (4 September 2027) is the biggest festival of the year for teams in Maharashtra and Goa.
- Onam (12 September 2027) is Kerala's harvest festival. Eco kits and bottle sets are a good fit.
How to plan a year of corporate gifting
- Pick one anchor festival. For most companies it is Diwali; give it the largest budget.
- Add regional moments where you have big teams. A Pongal gift for a Chennai office or an Onam gift for a Kochi team lands better than a generic national gift.
- Budget per head, per occasion. For example, ₹800 at Diwali, ₹400 at New Year and ₹300 for a regional festival.
- Standardise the brand. Use the same logo treatment on every gift so they read as one programme.
- Order early. Confirm three to five weeks ahead for branded bulk orders, and five weeks ahead for Diwali.
Joining kits run all year alongside this calendar. See our employee joining kit guide for what to include.

Frequently asked questions
Which Indian festivals are most important for corporate gifting?
Diwali is the largest by far. Navratri and Dussehra, Christmas and New Year, and the mid-January harvest festivals (Lohri, Makar Sankranti and Pongal) follow. Regional festivals such as Onam, Durga Puja, Ganesh Chaturthi and Baisakhi matter a lot for teams based in those states.
When is Diwali in 2026 and 2027?
Diwali falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026 and on Friday, 29 October 2027.
How far in advance should we order festival gifts?
For branded bulk orders, confirm three to five weeks before the festival. For Diwali, when demand peaks, aim for five weeks.
Should we gift for every festival?
Most companies choose one big festive gift (usually Diwali) and one or two smaller moments, such as New Year diaries or a regional festival for a large local team. A consistent annual plan works better than gifting everything.
